Out of the mouth of babes...

I guess he's really not a baby anymore...

My newly four year old, Evan, just kills me sometimes. He definitely doesn't have a lack of words! His words may not be understood most of the time, but believe me...he talks!

Yesterday, I took him to get his haircut. While we were waiting, I was distracted with Anna and Evan exclaims, "Wooo, Mom! That man is really fat!" I looked over at Evan and he was pointing to a man who was paying for his finished haircut.

I'm sure my face turned bright red. But no one would have known because I chose to be a mature adult and ignore my son and lower my head in embarrassment.

Eventually, I pulled Evan aside and whispered firmly in his ear that we are not supposed to say things like that. They hurt people's feelings, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah...

But really, I just wanted to know why of all times did he decide to talk perfectly clearly?

Kids...

I remember being at the Philadelphia airport, in the restroom and Tanner saying very loudly, "I want a chocolate face." I thought we were going to get beat up.
Kids are funny.

Happened to me too! A woman at the grocery store offered me a coupon and Ethan says, "that girl is really cubby!" I did the same thing you did. Also, spoke with the mechanic the other day about fixing my car and rylee says, "mom, he's smoking." "yes, Rylee, I think he knows that too." "my mom calls cigarettes cancer sticks." Thanks, Rylee!

Children embarassing their elders is just a right of passage we all must endure. I had the dubious honor of embarassing the heck out of my Grandmother one day while we sat in a waiting room. I looked over at the person accross the rooom and loudly announced, "My Grandma can take her teeth out. Can you?". (She never took me with her to any more appointments after that.)

Oh! This is so funny yet so mortifying at the same time. Did the man say anything? At least Evan is totally cute! It's scary because kids have no filter whatsoever. Kids are funny though!
