Sorry, I'm not very sympathetic.
And you've got to see this video that Mark just shared.

For the past 8 years, I have been in a relationship with the Big K. In middle school this would have been the death of me, but now as a 30-something, I'm okay admitting it.
The lines suck. Customer service is non-existent. The cleanliness is awful. I, seriously, don't know how Martha tolerates her stuff being sold here. But...
The deals. The deals I have scored out of this place are incredible. My kitchen table and chairs, clothes for my kids, my most favorite and comfortable shoes (boots) surprisingly are from Kmart. And I can't forget our porch furniture, clearance Christmas items and the boys bunk beds.
Speaking of bunk beds, The Big K and I have FINALLY split up...
(long story, but goes something like this--no beds in stock, no one knows how to get one in stock, corporate doesn't know how they get them in stock, Dale City has one, they'll even hold it for me, oops...oh, they forgot to tell me it was extremely damaged, okay...could be forgivable with a hefty discount, What?? That is not a discount! Did you make me just drive to the dumpiest Kmart? EVER. You know what Big K...I'm DONE!!!)
And right now I'm just so mad that I haven't had time to be sad.
But good news, I think I found Evan a bed!
And I may be entering into a new relationship!!!

I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep up with this. My whole reasoning was to scrapbook them and have a little book capturing the year, but I haven't scrapped any of them. Maybe I'll just print them out and then write next to them in an album. And I'm thinking of putting the photos on my other crafty/scrappy blog...I don't know...just thinking out loud...

My husband is always busy--even when he shouldn't be. I admire his work ethic and his ability to "get the job done". Because of this quality, we now have ample room to park the van in the garage!!

The day of rest. So they say. The boys had some friends over for the night. Rob made a fire. I made some cookies and they made marshmallow cookie sandwiches. And if that wasn't a sweet enough bribe for them, they ganged up and attacked Rob! He held his own, though against the 5 boys.01.19.09
The kids were off school today and Rob took some time off to spend with them. But turns out, their friends are much cooler to hang out with! Instead, Rob installed a new light and fan in their bedroom. Finally, let there be light!! The poor kids have been living in darkness for almost two years now.

In living color...on a typical day Anna is hanging out near the cabinets in a pile of crumbs, rearranging the kids bowls and cups or setting the "table". And always while wearing a fashionable pair of rain boots (and today the added bonus of wearing one of Tyler's socks).
01.21.09
I hosted a playgroup today at our home. And naturally, the toy house turned into a boat. Whatever, the kids had a great time.

Tyler is our King of Routine and I am SO grateful for this. I never have to worry about him sneaking off or trying to get out of his work. He works quickly (and thoroughly) so he has plenty of time to play. On Thursdays he vacuums the steps before he heads off to school.

Some mornings I just don't want to wake up. Instead I just wanna stay put and cuddle. Unfortunately, my almost 4 and 2 year olds won't have it. I'm still not going to the gym, though!

Oh the Turkey...
I just saw Ev playing with my cell phone.
"Put that down. It's not a toy."
"But I'm talking to Daddy!"
"Put the phone down, Evan."
He listened. He put the phone down.
A few seconds later, my phone rings.
"Hello."
"Hi. This is Prince William County Fire and Emergency. I think your son just called us."
Geeeessshhhh...that child keeps me on my toes!
I wish I'd been quick enough to ask what they talked about!

Because this will not be one of my photos of the day, I thought I'd show off Evan sporting his new shirt. He doesn't "get it" but he was so excited and gave me a BIG hug, exclaiming, "I LOOOOOVE my new shirt!" And when I dropped him off at school this morning, he immediately ran to his teacher to show her his shirt!
Glad he loves it because it's going to be around for awhile. It's sized 4T and it's HUGE on him. Hopefully a good washing will shrink it up a bit!

As parents, we celebrate with our children all of their firsts...first tooth, first lost tooth (when it's lost in the traditional way), first time riding a bike, first time using the "potty," first time sleeping in a bed, etc, etc,...
The form of dwarfism that Evan has goes unnoticed to the untrained eye because he is still young. Most people in our social circle know that he has dwarfism because they have known us through the entire process from birth to diagnosis and on.
However, we are in a new ward (church congregation) and not everyone there is familiar with our family. So when, Evan's new church teacher asked Rob if Evan was a dwarf, I was floored! I thought I would be sad, but I wasn't. In fact, I was thrilled!! Maybe because others are finally seeing what we know, rather then just looking at him strangely and wondering. I don't know...
...but we celebrated this first--there was no clapping or cheering, but we celebrate our peace with this challenge and that I didn't run away in tears as this becomes more of a reality. It's all going to be okay.
P.S. For those who don't check out my FB, we did win the Nike shirt!!!! It should be here in a few days and I'll post a pic of Evan in it when we get it.
P.P.S. To our LP friends and family (and any others with input)...We have made it a point to let Evan know that even though he'll have a little body, he's still a big boy. Lately, though, he keeps telling his Dad that he doesn't want to be little that he wants "to be big like my daddy." Rob doesn't get rattled by much, but it makes him sad and we're not quite sure how to handle Evan's wishes. I didn't think saying "Tough Evan, not gonna happen" would be very sensitive, but I don't want to mislead him. He's almost 4--should I just blow it off, or how should I approach it. I need your expertise!!

Let's see if I got every day this week...craziness has ensued at that Kunz household (again), but I think I managed to cover the gist of it in photos.

(If it's a deal)
When I saw the shirt that Preston was wearing in this blog post, I knew that Evan needed to TOTALLY copy Preston's fashion sense!!
So I've bid on the shirt on e-bay!! Don't outbid me, please!!!! I know you've been all dying for one of these, too!!I think it is just absolutely perfect.

The big buzz right now in the digital world of photography and scrapbooking is Project 365. Take a photo a day, journal a quick sentence about it and if you so choose, scrap the photos by week. In the end, you will have captured in snapshots your year.
Sounds great to me. I love this idea.
However, I'm so non-committal. And I know I would never stick with it, so instead I've been enjoying everyone else's determination and commitment to something great.
Yet, every time I take a photo (I pick up my camera at least once or twice a day), I think "if I was doing Project 365, this would be my photo!" I should just do it, right?
I'll do it half way, all right! If I remember, I'll throw together a post recapping the previous week. Maybe this will help me a better blogger, too...doubt it.

...and his name, I've been told, is Jabba (the Hut). But just like any "bad" monster, he must be dismissed...
(Yes, this is our fridge and thankfully he kept to small, green dots and lines on the cabinets and walls. Let's cross our fingers that it is out of his system now!)

Can you believe that we have not taken our children to the temple grounds since...Evan was a newborn. Geeesshhh...Honestly, we don't all go together ANYWHERE these days because it is such a hassle, but it has made it on my list of New Year resolutions--to do more things as a family. Sure, Anna fussed the majority of the way there and back. And we got stuck in 495 traffic for 45 minutes because of a car fire. Yes, I was even a bit crabby (go figure) because of an oncoming cold.
However, the night was a success and made me realize that we need to do things like this more often. Some of the highlights were seeing all of the colored lights, the photography exhibit displaying depictions of the Savior's life and seeing all of the nativity displays from around the world.
Yet, we were left wondering why we do not have one of these at our home...I guess I have some Internet shopping to do! Darn! Sucks to be me.

Yep. That's me.
I hate to do a recap of the entire Christmas season, but here it is!
Check out the slide show if you'd like.
We had a great time despite Evan's declaration, when asked "How was your Christmas?", "BAD!" (with a scowl).
We got all that we could want and more. I loved spending time with my parents and the Zamora's. We are healthy. And happy. Hope your holidays were great, too!
P.S. We also were able to go and see the White House all decked out for Christmas (thanks Leah for getting us the tickets). It was so much fun and I wish we could have brought in the camera.
