My love/hate relationship...

For the past 8 years, I have been in a relationship with the Big K. In middle school this would have been the death of me, but now as a 30-something, I'm okay admitting it.

The lines suck. Customer service is non-existent. The cleanliness is awful. I, seriously, don't know how Martha tolerates her stuff being sold here. But...

The deals. The deals I have scored out of this place are incredible. My kitchen table and chairs, clothes for my kids, my most favorite and comfortable shoes (boots) surprisingly are from Kmart. And I can't forget our porch furniture, clearance Christmas items and the boys bunk beds.

Speaking of bunk beds, The Big K and I have FINALLY split up...
(long story, but goes something like this--no beds in stock, no one knows how to get one in stock, corporate doesn't know how they get them in stock, Dale City has one, they'll even hold it for me, oops...oh, they forgot to tell me it was extremely damaged, okay...could be forgivable with a hefty discount, What?? That is not a discount! Did you make me just drive to the dumpiest Kmart? EVER. You know what Big K...I'm DONE!!!)

And right now I'm just so mad that I haven't had time to be sad.

But good news, I think I found Evan a bed!

And I may be entering into a new relationship!!!

Very funny.

I was just about to have post something Kmart related in the next few days too.

I guess they suck everywhere.

LOL! I LOVE my kitchen set I got there, but it took over a month of calling to various stores and driving to three different locations to get all the pieces. They are a nightmare. Hope the new relationship turns out better. And maybe I should head over there and check out their boots!

I love how you say in middle school admitting this would be the death of you. I feel that way about Target and Kohl's. Kohls just may be my favorite store on earth!

I still can't step foot into K-mart, even when they have their double coupons up to and including $1.00. The reasons are the same as yours. I think I went there with the fam and stayed in the car while David went in to buy bedsheets for the girls a couple of years ago. HATE THAT PLACE! But, after all this babbling, I love your posts!

Love the post; hate K-Mart.

I am a Target girl myself -- can spend hours in there. Evil Walmart, I can do if I am desperate.

But, I have not yet ventured into the realm of super-amazing-ultra-expert bargain hunter far enough to even give K-Mart a try.

It takes someone with more diligence than I possess to track down the K-Mart gems....

I challenge you to scrapbook this experience with the title "Breakin' Up Is Hard To Do". Do you accept this challenge?

I feel the same way about Walmart! There are so many different things that I hate about that store, but the groceries are so much cheaper... And they actually have the Wii in stock, so if we ever get around to buying one I know where to find it! LOL

Hahaha that was the funniest story ever! Sorry you're so upset I went through crud like that around Christmas time. Some stores are just infuriating! This new "relationship" sounds promising. who with?

I feel the same about K-mart. I have friends that get great deals there all the time, so I'll drive out (farther than I'd normally go) to check it out. I must be blind, but I never find the deals.

For beds, I've seen a couple really neat beds at IKEA - if you don't mind getting a non-standard size mattress. They've got some really low bunk/fort beds. We're looking at trundle beds since we're a little short on space (and my husband is afraid to stack the kids' bunk bed).

Anyway, with whom is your new relationship?

We don't have Kmart in our neck of the woods, but there was this Martha Stewart table I wanted for my scrapbooking room that was out of stock forever...but to ship it when it did come back in...would have cost like a million dollars! Where is this new found love?? I must know!
